Sally Is A Cheerleader!

My neice (Leah's daughter) has made the cheer squad at TMS, her middle school. Funny, because Sally is definately not the typical cheerleader type - she has always been somewhat of a tomboy. But much to everyone's surprise she loves cheerleading! The squad started with cheer camp in early summer at the University of Alabama UCA Camp, then they took a break. Practice has started again now for ballgames and pep rallies! I can't wait to go and see her cheer - she is such a ham. Last weekend she called and asked if I would come over to her house and make some pictures of her in her uniform, and of course I was thrilled. Here are some of the best shots:

She Is My Shero.................................

I've been thinking alot lately about my little sister, Stephanie and how much I admire her courage and strength. Several years ago Stephanie adopted four children, three of who are special needs. There's Josh, the oldest who has down's syndrom, then Ray, his biological brother, then Sarah, who has borderline multiple personality disorder, and Angel, who is ADHD. All of these children came from terrible situations and my sister and brother in law adopted them, and the rest is family history! I don't even have to tell you that there is never a dull moment at their house! The patience she has and sacrifices she has made have been tremendous. I don't know of a more loving, giving person. Stephanie, you are my SHERO! Love you!

New Payton Pics

I got to snap a few new payton pictures the other day while I was at mother's. She changes and grows so fast!!!! Her new favorite thing to do is to say "ahhhhh" when she's thirsty, and mmmmmmmmmm when she's hungry. Poor thing she's lost a pound or two with this virus, and also new teeth are coming in! She's so much fun!

My Mother

I took a picture of my mother a couple of months back and she thought she didn't look good in it. So, when I attemped another shot at her the other day she said she wouldn't take a picture unless she gave herself a facelift:

I kept telling her just to sit and smile. I bet she will next time. :)

At The Ballpark

Last Saturday I was feeling a bit better after two sinus shots on Friday, so I went to the ballpark to watch my niece, Allie, play softball. My mother and father were there, as well as Payton and Allie's sister, Sally. Here are some pics of a beautiful spring day at the ball yard:

A Day With My Mother

I spent the afternoon with my mother yesterday. We went to her favorite place to lose money, Greentrack. Now, for those of you who do not know this establishment, it is located in a tin roof building in Greene County Alabama. And, it has lots and lots of slot machines disguised as "BINGO". Right. Whatever. There's nothing BINGO about it. And, it's not regulated so I like to say their slogan is "Greenetrack Takes Your Money" instead of the one that they advertise, "Greenetrack Pays You Money". We wondered why they were so dang busy, and oh yeah, it was Kentucky Derby Day. Everyone in Greene County was there to place a bet on a horse. Everyone. I really felt like getting a nuclear scrub-down after I left there. Yuck. But, we still had fun.

We really wanted to eat at the Cotton Patch Restaurant, which we found out was closed. Such a shame. I have many memories of eating there as a child. Steaks that melt in your mouth. Onion rings shreded so thin it's almost sinful. Watermelon rind pickles. And homemade buscuits. (sigh) oh well calories saved. Instead we went to Outback, which was good, but not quite the Cotton Patch.

All in all a great time with mother, which is rare these days with Payton in the picture. I just wanted to document it so that one day I can read this again. Mother's day is next Sunday. I love you mama. Thanks for a wonderful day.

5. ....has four teeth, two up top and two on the bottom

8. ....doesn't nap very well, and takes "snaps" (short naps) during the day

Bobo and Payton

Yesterday Payton visited my daddy (her great grandfather) and I took the opportunity to take pictures of them. I don't know that alot of pictures have been shot of them, and I wanted both of them to remember her at 10 months old.

Generations

You know, I just love my mother. She is so much fun and is such a trooper when it comes to Payton. Today she was a trooper as I snapped a few pics again during lunch. And I captured her in a few pictures that made me very emotional.
